March 29, 2007

Oh! It’s been a while since I’ve written my first blog here at WordPress.com. And I admit I’ve been very busy with other stuffs that I forgot to update my blogs. Sorry for that.

Okay. The whole idea about this blog is to give you an idea on the new things I’ve learned in my online marketing experience particularly about the hassle of marketing a real estate website, which I haven’t done before. Well, the subject for today is about keywords and their importance.

For those who haven’t heard of keywords and don’t know what keywords really are, this information can enlighten you.

Basically, the term “keywords” refer to words that are used in a web page which must go well with the words that users type in the search engines. They are usually found in the header or in the body of the document.

Hmmm you might be wondering what role does the keywords have to play in the search engine optimization. Well they are very crucial in online marketing specifically when it comes to driving higher traffic to your site. That’s why if you want to have a user-friendly and search engine-friendly site, you need to come up with the right keywords that your site wants to target. Remember it’s the keyword that serves as the building block of search engine optimization. I also came across this site which I think will be of help to your online marketing endeavors. The site is called Search Engine Watch.

There are many resources or should I say tools that you can use to boost up your web page and make sure that the search engines will really notice your site. Some of the resources that I find of value are the Wordtracker, Keyword Discovery tool and the Overture. These tools are really helpful in determining which keywords or keyword phrases should be used for your site. By this means you can be assured of a good ranking in the search engines.

Squidoo for Better Social Networking

March 16, 2007

If you’re a SEO novice, Squidoo offers a good approach that you can lean on. You might be wondering what or why.

How can Squidoo help you boost your site’s traffic? I also asked myself this question on my first encounter with Squidoo. Would you believe that I really have no idea on what it is when I created my own lens? Yes, I’ve tried building my own Squidoo page to see for myself what this social networking site has to offer. It’s more of a trial-and-error phase to check how effective it is in boosting the traffic of the website that I’m trying to market. And as I go on with it, I am getting closer to knowing all the cycle that Squidoo is offering to SEO wannabes.

Now let me explain to you what Squidoo is in my own point of view. Squidoo is a website where you are allowed to make your own profile and page about a certain theme or subject. Some people described it as somewhat similar to a blog. The only difference is that it has more features that are not found in a blog. There are different modules which you can insert to your page to make it more noticeable in the search engines.

In Squidoo, what you do is you create a good content about a topic that is of interest to you. The content that you make is called a lens; being the author of it, you are known as the lensmaster. The nice thing about Squidoo is that it’s so easy to make. You can create as many lens as you like; or you can edit your previous lens to improve them further. What’s more Squidoo highlights great link popularity to the extent that your lens can outmatch other pages found in the search engine listings.

Without doubt, Squidoo is something that you should never take for granted in online marketing. It’s an asset that every marketer should learn to utilize in promoting a website’s brand identity.

And as days pass by, the Internet gets bigger and better. This is only a clear indication that online marketing continues to envelop the industry in a fast phase.

Email marketing which used to be the center of attention in the world of business advertising has declined. It is mainly because there are several problems that you encounter when you opt for email marketing. Problems like spamming and scams are very common.

Now online marketing has shifted into something more innovative and reliable. Do you know what it is? It’s the so-called search engine optimization and pay-per-click advertising. Basically, I only know little about search engine optimization. But as far as I know it is the best way to keep your site at the top spot of the search engines. It’s the most effective way to make your site highly competitive.

One thing I learned in my Day 2 in online marketing is that search engine optimization is the key for you to earn lots of money in your business. Optimizing a website is the first and sure step in building your name in the E-commerce industry though it may take some time and effort. But it’s worth the wait.
