Google Analytics is Free

April 3, 2007

Internet marketing has gone a long way. And many marketing strategies are developed to make it more convenient for businesses to promote their products and services to their target market. There are so many strategies on hand.

As a matter of fact, I just discovered recently another great tool to make the most of your online marketing campaign. What is it? Well it’s called Google Analytics. For me it’s something very useful to web marketers especially to newbies in search engine optimization.

Why is it useful? Google Analytics is useful in the sense that it provides you with the information you need to keep track of your website’s performance in the search engines. Basically, it includes significant details such as search engine results, top content, referral resources and many more.

For small businesses, Google Analytics is a great blessing. It offers several advantages that you should not take for granted. It is said to be great for Adwords.

What’s good about analytics is that it’s totally free. If you’re utilizing Adwords, this tool is definitely a great advantage to you. It gives you the convenience of checking two sites, one is on the Adwords while the other one on the website. You can do these all at the same time. And this is the upper hand that analytics is offering to businesses. If you want to know more about the features of analytics, you can try it since it’s free of charge. Sign up and see for yourself.

The Fabulous Approach to Internet Marketing

March 30, 2007

I just read something relevant to online marketing and it really caught my attention. It’s about Dan Warner’s Fabulous strategy. Who is Dan Warner? Well let me quote this short description about him from ICANNWikki: “Dan is a well-known and highly respected executive with more than 10 years experience in Internet marketing. He has been a key driver of reform for quality and fraud control for advertising search and domain traffic with a significant ongoing relationship involving Google, Yahoo, Microsoft and other top NASDAQ companies.” Plus, he is identified as one of the most powerful person when it comes to Internet marketing.

Now let’s go back to the Fabulous strategy. The Fabulous approach is said to be more effective in targeting high traffic because it makes use of specific generic domains. What are these generic domains? The generic domains are said to be the type of domains which are only represented by the domain itself. They are recognized by their descriptive nature, which sets them apart from the branded domains.

So if you’ll be given the chance to choose between branded domains and generic domains I suggest that you opt for the latter one. Why? Because with generic domains you are targeting the specific terms that the users will be typing in the address bar. And by being specific, there’s a greater chance that your domain will receive higher response rates.

You think it’s absurd? Hmm yes, I know this may take a while to generate positive results. But you’ll see it’s worth the wait. It’s a great sales strategy so why not try it.

Why Backlinks are Essential to SEO

March 29, 2007

Who knows that a simple link can make or break the ranking of a site. You don’t believe it, do you? Well, I’m a non-believer of it, too. But that was before when I’m just an ordinary web surfer who just use the Net for research or entertainment. But now it’s a totally different situation for I’ve been in the web marketing business for such a long time (well I consider my 2-years stay in this industry a long time already) and I can attest to how a link could really make a big difference in a website’s visibility or should I say a web page’s popularity.

My point here is that links are one of the most important things that you should take into consideration in search engine optimization. You should never take them for granted for they maybe so simple but they can do greater things for your site’s ranking.

Specifically I am referring to backlinks. Do you have any idea on what they are? Okay let me put it in plain words for you. Backlinks are defined as links that point to your site coming from other sites. These type of links are very essential in determining how popular a website or web page is. The more backlinks a website has, the more popular it becomes. The number of backlinks is crucial in knowing the search engine ranking. So it is very important that you have quality backlinks for you to be able to optimize your site very well.

Something that I learned about backlinks especially in making your site search engine-friendly is that you have to make use of backlinks that are relevant to your site and backlinks that are of high quality. See to it that your backlinks come from a quality site that displays good content and matches your site’s subject. You see building backlinks should not be done overnight. It takes some time before you see the results. But it’s worth the wait.

Building a Lens

March 21, 2007

I’ve been hearing a lot about Squidoo. This made me think about just how Squidoo can help me in carrrying out my marketing objectives. Yes, it’s been two weeks now since I started my first Squidoo lens. It’s all about real estate marketing. It’s a short info page where I discussed some tips on how you can achieve a fruitful marketing for a real estate website.

Well at first I’m confused on how would I do it so what I did was I gathered some helpful tidbits on how to create a lens. I read the Squidoo FAQ’s and also searched the Net for some tips on how to arrive at a great-looking Squidoo page. According to Chris on his article, Squidoo is open for everyone. It’s very different from other sites to the extent that it has modules that you can add to your page; you also have the privilege to change, edit or delete the module as long as you want to.

What’s more, your Squidoo lens are backed by some Google ads and other money-gaining stuffs to ensure that your page gets the high traffic that you desire. I’m a lensmaster now. And I’m happy to be one. If you’re new to SEO, joining the Squidoo community is definitely an upper hand.

Squidoo for Better Social Networking

March 16, 2007

If you’re a SEO novice, Squidoo offers a good approach that you can lean on. You might be wondering what or why.

How can Squidoo help you boost your site’s traffic? I also asked myself this question on my first encounter with Squidoo. Would you believe that I really have no idea on what it is when I created my own lens? Yes, I’ve tried building my own Squidoo page to see for myself what this social networking site has to offer. It’s more of a trial-and-error phase to check how effective it is in boosting the traffic of the website that I’m trying to market. And as I go on with it, I am getting closer to knowing all the cycle that Squidoo is offering to SEO wannabes.

Now let me explain to you what Squidoo is in my own point of view. Squidoo is a website where you are allowed to make your own profile and page about a certain theme or subject. Some people described it as somewhat similar to a blog. The only difference is that it has more features that are not found in a blog. There are different modules which you can insert to your page to make it more noticeable in the search engines.

In Squidoo, what you do is you create a good content about a topic that is of interest to you. The content that you make is called a lens; being the author of it, you are known as the lensmaster. The nice thing about Squidoo is that it’s so easy to make. You can create as many lens as you like; or you can edit your previous lens to improve them further. What’s more Squidoo highlights great link popularity to the extent that your lens can outmatch other pages found in the search engine listings.

Without doubt, Squidoo is something that you should never take for granted in online marketing. It’s an asset that every marketer should learn to utilize in promoting a website’s brand identity.

Keeping Your Site Search Engine-friendly

Online marketing? Hmm, let me see. Online marketing has been the focus of attention these days. It has been the term that you usually hear now in the E-commerce industry. And as days pass by, the Internet gets bigger and better. This is only a clear indication that online marketing continues to envelop the industry in a fast phase.

Email marketing which used to be the center of attention in the world of business advertising has declined. It is mainly because there are several problems that you encounter when you opt for email marketing. Problems like spamming and scams are very common.

Now online marketing has shifted into something more innovative and reliable. Do you know what it is? It’s the so-called search engine optimization and pay-per-click advertising. Basically, I only know little about search engine optimization. But as far as I know it is the best way to keep your site at the top spot of the search engines. It’s the most effective way to make your site highly competitive.

One thing I learned in my Day 2 in online marketing is that search engine optimization is the key for you to earn lots of money in your business. Optimizing a website is the first and sure step in building your name in the E-commerce industry though it may take some time and effort. But it’s worth the wait.
