The Fabulous Approach to Internet Marketing

March 30, 2007

I just read something relevant to online marketing and it really caught my attention. It’s about Dan Warner’s Fabulous strategy. Who is Dan Warner? Well let me quote this short description about him from ICANNWikki: “Dan is a well-known and highly respected executive with more than 10 years experience in Internet marketing. He has been a key driver of reform for quality and fraud control for advertising search and domain traffic with a significant ongoing relationship involving Google, Yahoo, Microsoft and other top NASDAQ companies.” Plus, he is identified as one of the most powerful person when it comes to Internet marketing.

Now let’s go back to the Fabulous strategy. The Fabulous approach is said to be more effective in targeting high traffic because it makes use of specific generic domains. What are these generic domains? The generic domains are said to be the type of domains which are only represented by the domain itself. They are recognized by their descriptive nature, which sets them apart from the branded domains.

So if you’ll be given the chance to choose between branded domains and generic domains I suggest that you opt for the latter one. Why? Because with generic domains you are targeting the specific terms that the users will be typing in the address bar. And by being specific, there’s a greater chance that your domain will receive higher response rates.

You think it’s absurd? Hmm yes, I know this may take a while to generate positive results. But you’ll see it’s worth the wait. It’s a great sales strategy so why not try it.

Why Backlinks are Essential to SEO

March 29, 2007

Who knows that a simple link can make or break the ranking of a site. You don’t believe it, do you? Well, I’m a non-believer of it, too. But that was before when I’m just an ordinary web surfer who just use the Net for research or entertainment. But now it’s a totally different situation for I’ve been in the web marketing business for such a long time (well I consider my 2-years stay in this industry a long time already) and I can attest to how a link could really make a big difference in a website’s visibility or should I say a web page’s popularity.

My point here is that links are one of the most important things that you should take into consideration in search engine optimization. You should never take them for granted for they maybe so simple but they can do greater things for your site’s ranking.

Specifically I am referring to backlinks. Do you have any idea on what they are? Okay let me put it in plain words for you. Backlinks are defined as links that point to your site coming from other sites. These type of links are very essential in determining how popular a website or web page is. The more backlinks a website has, the more popular it becomes. The number of backlinks is crucial in knowing the search engine ranking. So it is very important that you have quality backlinks for you to be able to optimize your site very well.

Something that I learned about backlinks especially in making your site search engine-friendly is that you have to make use of backlinks that are relevant to your site and backlinks that are of high quality. See to it that your backlinks come from a quality site that displays good content and matches your site’s subject. You see building backlinks should not be done overnight. It takes some time before you see the results. But it’s worth the wait.

March 29, 2007

Oh! It’s been a while since I’ve written my first blog here at And I admit I’ve been very busy with other stuffs that I forgot to update my blogs. Sorry for that.

Okay. The whole idea about this blog is to give you an idea on the new things I’ve learned in my online marketing experience particularly about the hassle of marketing a real estate website, which I haven’t done before. Well, the subject for today is about keywords and their importance.

For those who haven’t heard of keywords and don’t know what keywords really are, this information can enlighten you.

Basically, the term “keywords” refer to words that are used in a web page which must go well with the words that users type in the search engines. They are usually found in the header or in the body of the document.

Hmmm you might be wondering what role does the keywords have to play in the search engine optimization. Well they are very crucial in online marketing specifically when it comes to driving higher traffic to your site. That’s why if you want to have a user-friendly and search engine-friendly site, you need to come up with the right keywords that your site wants to target. Remember it’s the keyword that serves as the building block of search engine optimization. I also came across this site which I think will be of help to your online marketing endeavors. The site is called Search Engine Watch.

There are many resources or should I say tools that you can use to boost up your web page and make sure that the search engines will really notice your site. Some of the resources that I find of value are the Wordtracker, Keyword Discovery tool and the Overture. These tools are really helpful in determining which keywords or keyword phrases should be used for your site. By this means you can be assured of a good ranking in the search engines.

Squidoo for Better Social Networking

March 16, 2007

If you’re a SEO novice, Squidoo offers a good approach that you can lean on. You might be wondering what or why.

How can Squidoo help you boost your site’s traffic? I also asked myself this question on my first encounter with Squidoo. Would you believe that I really have no idea on what it is when I created my own lens? Yes, I’ve tried building my own Squidoo page to see for myself what this social networking site has to offer. It’s more of a trial-and-error phase to check how effective it is in boosting the traffic of the website that I’m trying to market. And as I go on with it, I am getting closer to knowing all the cycle that Squidoo is offering to SEO wannabes.

Now let me explain to you what Squidoo is in my own point of view. Squidoo is a website where you are allowed to make your own profile and page about a certain theme or subject. Some people described it as somewhat similar to a blog. The only difference is that it has more features that are not found in a blog. There are different modules which you can insert to your page to make it more noticeable in the search engines.

In Squidoo, what you do is you create a good content about a topic that is of interest to you. The content that you make is called a lens; being the author of it, you are known as the lensmaster. The nice thing about Squidoo is that it’s so easy to make. You can create as many lens as you like; or you can edit your previous lens to improve them further. What’s more Squidoo highlights great link popularity to the extent that your lens can outmatch other pages found in the search engine listings.

Without doubt, Squidoo is something that you should never take for granted in online marketing. It’s an asset that every marketer should learn to utilize in promoting a website’s brand identity.
